Cran & Somerville shipbuilders Ltd, was yet another of the famous Leith Shipyards in operation from 1883 to 1926 when they were taken over by the Henry Robb yard a couple of years later.
The yard started out as J.Cran & Co Shipbuilders and Engineers from 1894 to 1903 before becoming the firm of Cran & Somerville
They were the second shipbuilders to be taken over by Henry Robb shipbuilders further expanding the capacity of the yard and bringing there own shipbuilding pedigree to the table along with many shipbuilders. Cran & Somerville were very well known builders of Tugs.
